Terms and Conditions

Must to Know

These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the Tibet Yak Travel website and the booking of travel services, tours, permits, transportation, accommodation, and related services arranged by Tibet Yak Travel.

By making an inquiry, booking a tour, paying a deposit, or participating in a tour arranged by us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

About Tibet Yak Travel

Tibet Yak Travel provides travel planning and tour arrangement services for Tibet and related destinations. Our services may include tour arrangements, travel permits, transportation, accommodation, sightseeing, guides, and other travel-related services.

Certain services are provided by third-party suppliers, including hotels, transportation companies, restaurants, airlines, railways, and local service providers. We coordinate these services but cannot control every aspect of third-party operations.

Tibet Travel Permit and Travel Requirements

Foreign travelers visiting the Tibet Autonomous Region must comply with applicable Chinese and Tibetan travel regulations.

A Tibet Travel Permit (TTP) and other permits may be required depending on the destination and itinerary. Travelers must arrange their Tibet tour through an authorized travel agency where required by applicable regulations.

Additional permits may be required for destinations such as Mount Everest, Mount Kailash, Ali, border areas, and other restricted regions.

Permit requirements and application procedures may change without prior notice. Tibet Yak Travel cannot guarantee approval where permits are subject to government authorization.

Travelers are responsible for providing accurate passport, visa, nationality, and other required information within the requested timeframe.

Booking and Confirmation

A booking becomes confirmed only after Tibet Yak Travel has accepted the booking and the required payment or deposit has been received.

Before confirmation, prices, hotel availability, transportation, itineraries, and other arrangements may change.

A booking confirmation or invoice will normally specify the services included, price, payment schedule, and other applicable conditions.

Prices and Payment

Tour prices are quoted in the currency stated in the quotation or invoice.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, a deposit may be required to confirm a booking, with the remaining balance payable before the tour begins.

Additional costs may apply for services not included in the confirmed itinerary, including personal expenses, optional activities, additional accommodation, meals not specified, transportation caused by itinerary changes, and other incidental expenses.

Bank charges, currency conversion fees, payment-platform fees, and other transaction costs may be charged to the traveler where applicable.

Cancellation by the Traveler

Cancellation policies depend on the tour, destination, suppliers involved, and timing of cancellation.

Because Tibet tours often require advance arrangements for permits, hotels, vehicles, guides, and other services, deposits and payments may be non-refundable once services have been booked or confirmed.

Where a refund is available, Tibet Yak Travel may deduct non-refundable supplier costs, permit fees, administrative expenses, bank charges, and other costs already incurred.

The specific cancellation and refund conditions provided with your booking confirmation or quotation take precedence where they differ from these general conditions.

Cancellation or Changes by Tibet Yak Travel

Tibet Yak Travel reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel a tour when circumstances beyond our reasonable control affect the safety, legality, or feasibility of the journey.

Where reasonably possible, we will offer alternative arrangements or dates.

We are not responsible for additional expenses incurred by travelers as a result of circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including government decisions, border closures, natural disasters, severe weather, transportation disruptions, political restrictions, or other force majeure events.

Changes to the Itinerary

Tibet is a high-altitude and geographically challenging destination. Road conditions, weather, permits, local regulations, transportation schedules, and other circumstances may require changes to an itinerary.

We reserve the right to adjust the order of activities, accommodation, transportation, or sightseeing when necessary.

Where possible, we will maintain the overall character and value of the original itinerary.

Specific hotels, vehicles, restaurants, guides, or other suppliers may be replaced with alternatives of a similar standard when necessary.

Accommodation

Accommodation is provided according to the category and hotels stated in the confirmed itinerary.

Hotel names may change due to availability, government restrictions, seasonal conditions, or operational reasons. When a listed hotel is unavailable, we will seek a suitable alternative of a similar standard.

Remote destinations in Tibet may have limited accommodation facilities. Travelers should not expect the same facilities or standards available in major international cities.

Transportation

Transportation may include private vehicles, trains, domestic flights, international flights, public transportation, or other means specified in the itinerary.

Flight and railway schedules are controlled by airlines and railway operators. Tibet Yak Travel cannot guarantee specific departure times or prevent delays, cancellations, route changes, or schedule adjustments made by transportation providers.

Travelers are responsible for following baggage, identification, check-in, and security requirements imposed by airlines and railway operators.

High-Altitude Travel

Travel in Tibet involves significant altitude, and travelers should understand the risks associated with high-altitude environments.

Travelers are responsible for assessing whether they are physically suitable for the planned journey and should consult an appropriately qualified medical professional when necessary.

Tibet Yak Travel and its guides may recommend changes to an itinerary if a traveler appears unable to safely continue.

Additional costs resulting from voluntary or medically necessary itinerary changes, evacuation, additional accommodation, transportation, or other services may be the traveler’s responsibility unless otherwise covered by insurance.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and may be required for certain tours.

Insurance should, where appropriate, cover:

  • Trip cancellation and interruption
  • Medical expenses
  • Emergency evacuation
  • High-altitude activities
  • Lost or delayed baggage
  • Flight and transportation disruption
  • Personal liability

Tibet Yak Travel is not an insurance provider and is not responsible for losses that could have been covered by appropriate travel insurance.

Traveler Responsibilities

Travelers must:

  • Provide accurate personal and travel information.
  • Ensure that their passport and visa remain valid.
  • Follow applicable Chinese laws and regulations.
  • Follow Tibet travel regulations and permit requirements.
  • Follow instructions from guides and local authorities.
  • Respect local customs, religious sites, communities, and cultural traditions.
  • Inform us in advance about relevant dietary requirements or special arrangements.
  • Arrive at specified meeting points on time.
  • Take reasonable care of personal belongings and travel documents.

Travelers may be responsible for additional costs resulting from failure to follow these requirements.

Personal Belongings

Travelers are responsible for their passports, visas, money, electronic devices, luggage, and other personal belongings.

Tibet Yak Travel is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal property unless caused directly by our proven negligence.

Travelers should keep important documents and valuables secure throughout the journey.

Visas and Entry Requirements

Travelers are responsible for obtaining and maintaining the visas, passports, permits, vaccinations, health documentation, and other documents required for their journey.

We may provide guidance regarding applicable travel documentation, but final approval and entry decisions are made by the relevant government authorities.

Possession of a visa or permit does not guarantee entry into China, Tibet, or another destination.

Photography and Cultural Respect

Travelers must follow applicable rules concerning photography, filming, drones, religious sites, monasteries, military or government facilities, border areas, and other restricted locations.

Permission may be required before photographing people, religious ceremonies, or certain cultural activities.

Tibet Yak Travel is not responsible for consequences resulting from unauthorized photography, filming, drone operation, or other prohibited activities.

Force Majeure

Tibet Yak Travel shall not be liable for failure or delay in providing services caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Such circumstances may include natural disasters, earthquakes, landslides, extreme weather, epidemics, pandemics, government restrictions, political instability, strikes, road closures, border closures, transportation disruptions, military activity, changes in travel regulations, permit restrictions, or other unforeseen events.

Third-Party Services

Hotels, airlines, railway operators, vehicle providers, restaurants, guides, and other suppliers operate independently.

Their services are subject to their own terms, conditions, schedules, and operational policies.

Tibet Yak Travel will make reasonable efforts to work with reliable suppliers but cannot guarantee that every third-party service will operate without interruption or change.

Complaints

If you experience a problem during your tour, please inform your guide or Tibet Yak Travel as soon as reasonably possible.

Many problems can be resolved more effectively while the traveler is still on the tour.

Complaints submitted after completion of the tour should be made as soon as reasonably possible and should include relevant details and supporting documentation.
